7 Gailes Marsh -

The Scottish Wildlife Trust, Gailes Marsh is an
area of marsh alongside open water, grassland
and, conifer plantations. It is rich in plant
species, including the rare royal fern. The
yellow bartsia, a short semi-parasitic annual,
is present on the reserve. This species has a
predominantly southern distribution in Britain,
and there is only one other Scottish record, at
the mouth of Glen Fyne.
